Seeking comments on draft Street Trading Policy

Tuesday, 3 January 2017

Scarborough Borough Council has launched a public consultation about the proposed introduction of a new Street Trading Policy.

The policy aims to create a vibrant and diverse street trading environment throughout the borough, which enhances the character, ambience and safety of the local environment while balancing the needs of residents and current businesses.
The draft policy outlines the council’s approach to the licensing of street trading and will be used when making decisions on whether to grant or refuse licences. It will also set out the way that applications are processed, how the council will enforce contraventions of the policy and the standards that street traders have to maintain.

The draft policy can be viewed and commented on by visiting up until 5pm on Wednesday 15 February.
