Boat Moorings

Provision of permanent and/or temporary boat moorings for boat owners. Moorings will be subject to charge and may be subject to restrictions (time, vessel size etc.). All boat owners are required to have a permanent mooring for their vessel.


General Information

Pontoons in Scarborough HarbourPort Services are responsible for the management and day to day running of the ports of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey Coble Landing.

We provide a wide range of marine services for private and commercial vessel owners/operators.

 

The moorings are allocated and leased with all administration and appropriate fees being charged by the Harbour Offices at Whitby and Scarborough.
 

Procedure

The Masters of all craft must report their presence to the Harbour Office within 24 hours of entering port. 

 

Please keep the Harbour Offices informed of any changes in vessel or personal details. All vessels must display a name. All vessels must hold insurance of at least £1,000,000 third party liability. Berths cannot be sold with vessels. Waiting lists are used for berths at both harbours. All berths are allocated by the Harbour Offices. Waiting lists for berths operate in both ports. Please contact the relevant Harbour Office for details.

 

Waiting List

Berths are allocated by the relevant Harbour Offices.  We operate a waiting list procedure whereby a £25 deposit is taken and this is deducted from your first years harbour dues when you are allocated a berth. Please contact Harbour Office for brochure, details etc. 

 

Visiting Craft 

The Masters of all visiting craft must report their presence to the Harbour Office within 24 hours of entering port. Harbour Dues are payable unsolicited within 24 hours of entering port.  The completion of a registration form upon arrival is obligatory.  

Berths cannot be booked but it is advisable to contact the relevant Harbour Office to advise of your intended arrival and length of stay. The maximum length of stay as a visitor is 14 days.
