Tuck in at a Big Lunch in Scarborough
Residents, tourists
and businesses are invited to tuck in to Scarborough’s annual Big
Lunch festivities on Sunday 18 July at public venues across the
town.
Nine separate Big Lunches are planned with
everything from small-scale street parties for residents of
individual streets to a large community picnic in Peasholm Park for
residents and visitors.
The motto of the Scarborough Big Lunch
campaign is “bring food, share with your neighbours, eat as a
community” and residents are encouraged to bring along food -
perhaps their signature dish - to share with their fellow
Scarborians.
Scarborough’s Big Lunch is part of a wider
community initiative of the Scarborough Urban Area Forum to promote
neighbourliness and community spirit and is linked in with the
national Big Lunch campaign, run by the Eden Project to encourage
people from all walks of life to gather in communal spaces to
“meet, share and eat”.
There will also be a various entertainment

Roulette!
